Student Activities Mission
The mission of Student Activities at Rice University is to provide students, both undergraduate and graduate, with practical educational experiences that foster leadership development and complement the traditional classroom education. Our fundamental focus is providing skill-building experiences that support leadership development through intentional advising, program coordination, club
support, and defined processes such as funding and registration.
Student Activities endeavors to be a provider and connection point for student opportunities, campus wide programming, and resources that lead to positive growth and development. With the cultivation of responsible leadership, social initiative, the appreciation of cultural diversity and integrity, the Office of Student Activities serves as the liaison between students, residential colleges, student clubs and administration for the enrichment of the Rice University community.
Some of the groups and programs we work with directly are clubs, the Graduate Student Association, Impact Rice Retreat, the Joint Campus Ministers, Lunch and Lead Programs, the Rice Program Council, Passport to Houston, the Rice Student Association, the Student Activities President’s Programming (SAPP) Fund, and the Women LEAD Program.
